Another Ryan Walters post. I’ve exhausted my dopamine hits on this subject, but I think I have a few more posts in me before I move on to something else in my efforts to confuse the algorithm.
In the meanwhile, I have one more mental punch I feel justified in throwing.
In previous posts I shared the election of Walters in spite of a profoundly more qualified Republican candidate contending for the position that my fellow Republicans decided to ignore because, frankly, Oklahoma Republicans don’t think women are qualified to be in government. I know, I know…we voted for Mary F. Fallin, but everybody makes mistakes.

And these are the sources for my information:
Let’s dig in.

I came to win, over and over again I take your life with a grin
I’ve been on a break for a bit. I may write more about that later depending on my whim and the reactions or lack thereof from the community. For now, I just wish to get out a short post about this politician. My theme is going to be that he is so used to winning, he doesn’t realize that you can’t always get what you want.

We’ve already discussed in another post how he won the primary over a highly qualified educator, and since he was the Republican, the Democrat had no chance. I know politics is a ruthless business (why do you think, besides growing up poor, I never got into it?), but the man is practicing some high class Left Coast Democrat style skullduggery that, if I respected him, I might actually be applauding.
Sadly, I don’t.
Channel five shares that “According to the newly filed lawsuits, the plaintiffs claim that their terminations on May 25 and May 26 were retaliatory and in violation of the First Amendment.
“They allege that Walters caused an email to be sent threatening to fire any OSDE employee if they “leaked” internal documents to the press. The email, which was allegedly prepared for and signed by Langston, ended by saying, “To recap, any employee found leaking information to the press will face immediate termination,” the lawsuit states.”

Channel 5 continues: “One lawsuit states that Walters fired the plaintiff on the evening of May 25 because she “supposedly shared confidential information (that ‘keep quiet’) email with the press.” The other claims the second plaintiff was fired on May 26 for sharing information with the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office and with an Oklahoma state representative.”
If this is true, then essentially teachers are in the same dilemma that private employees for corporations have been in for a long time. You really don’t HAVE freedom of speech. Frankly, Congress, doesn’t HAVE to make any law abridging our right to free speech. As long as our companies can tell us what we are allowed and not allowed to say in order to keep a job, effectively that right is a thing of the past.

Channel 5 shares with us:
“Last week, Walters held a contentious board of education meeting on the same day that he threatened Oklahoma State Department of Education employees with termination if they leaked files and materials from the department. On that same day, education department employees received an email from Langston saying that any department caught leaking materials or communication from the department would be fired.
Langston seemed to acknowledge in a tweet that different versions of that email were sent to catch those leaking them to the media.”
Tired Blogger analysis: Walters is incompetent when it comes to leadership or administration, but he has read a Clancy novel or two. Clever to implement a canary trap in order to catch the “disloyal.” Why do I get the feeling someone else is calling the shots and writing the playbook?

Now let’s see what Oklahoma Watch has to say about all this:
“The state’s schools chief debuted a video Thursday depicting teacher unions as enemies and the state Education Department as students’ savior, escalating his incendiary rhetoric against teachers and their professional organizations.”
Earlier this month he called teachers’ unions “terrorist organizations” during a budget hearing at the state Capitol. Those comments drew a backlash and encouraged some to attend Thursday’s meeting and speak out.”
The five-minute video was shown during the Board of Education meeting and posted on the state Department of Education’s YouTube page. As of Friday morning, the video’s Youtube settings had been changed to private, making it unavailable. The dramatized production contains foreboding music interspersed clips of Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters’ appearances on Fox News with soundbites of National Education Association President Becky Pringle, Vice President Kamala Harris and others.”
After watching the video and coupling it with some of the things I have learned about schools in other parts of the nation, I would likely by tempted to agree with Walters. I actually do believe that the federal levels of education are corrupt, and that they have an agenda to corrupt our children and weaken our nation. But do you notice what you don’t see much of in the video? Actual teachers from Oklahoma.
This is the video:
While I know this is abrupt, I’m going to end this post here. What are your thoughts? Is there a danger of Oklahoma schools perverting our children? Or are Oklahoma teachers grounded enough not to abuse the authority they have as teachers to guide our children with wisdom and respect? Comments welcome.
I won’t put a date on my next post. Life has been so painful and confusing lately; I don’t really know when the next one will be. There is more to say on this topic, but there are also fascinating things going on in Russia and Ukraine that your Tired Blogger had already given vague hints at in the past.
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day.
Teachers are governed by teacher unions, which, in most states and across the usa are a federal level are incredibly powerful, and not in a good way.
Interesting take. I honestly wish I could care, but, right is better left is better…none of the above

Agreed. One reason why it has taken so long to write anything at all. On the federal level the I agree with many things Walters says. But on a state level he’s fool of schtuff. It was hard to write because I honestly don’t think I care anymore. They’re all crooks. And voters don’t read, don’t research, don’t care…

The average IQ in the USA is 98, something like 90-95% of the population falls at or below that. While this has been scoffed at by many in the last couple of decades as “racist/sexist/ and other ists” the reality is, in two parent households which only make up 60-65% of households now, the majority of parents work.
It is encouraged, embraced, and “boss lady” status is assigned to women (men never get special names for doing the same and more) who do not have to work but are encouraged to.
The media, educational, political, and social “leaders” of the last 40+ years have made it clear, women MUST work to be free…
Combine a relatively low IQ for most, with overwhelming propaganda, social and educational influences (which because both work the US dept of education does what it wants and has since the 80s.
Combine these things and you have people who simply do not have the time to decipher the bullshit, and instead have been coerced, taught or brainwashed into following one side or the other…both sides of course leading to the same end goal…
My point, the people are responsible for research but the people having allowed their greed and desire for MORE luxuries, (not all but let’s be honest, how is a truly “poor” person able to afford semi new vehicles and smart phones) they have allowed that all to mammalian desire for more to override their good sense.
So yes, voters don’t read, research or really care BUT they also don’t exactly have the time or even mental ability to do so either.
And thanks to social shit show media, it is incredibly easy to pass partial truths and lack of information off as truth and reality.

💯 And part of my efforts at blogging was essentially to MAKE myself learn the truth. But as you say, people (even people we label “smart”) are often so stressed they just don’t WANT to take the time.

Addendum, there is also the relatively new, yet amazingly ancient approach in the USA of…
If you don’t support everything I say, you are the enemy…group think 101, bullshit
